A: You may be able to transfer your cell phone number to a "Mailbox In The Sky". Some telephone providers offer a service where you have a voice mail box but no actual telephone service anywhere. It's the voice mail equivalent of a post office box. You'd have to pay for it (though much cheaper than a cell phone contract), but it'd allow you to keep your number.
