Which is better? Hawaii or the Caribbean?

Q: I've been to the Big Island twice - one for a conference and the other for my honeymoon. I don't remember enjoying it that much; in fact, I was a bit disappointed - the water wasn't really turquoise or crystal clear as I had expected (a major thing to me), food was mediocre, I did not feel the aloha spirit (they were tourists everywhere and others who didn't look 'natives' at all), everything was pricey, there wasn't really much to see other than the volcano and the beaches. However, if I were to choose between Hawaii and the Caribbean (say, an all expenses paid trip for a week), I thought I would go to the latter. I'm sure the islands are spectacular and have so much to offer. Yet, something in me long to go back to Hawaii and explore what I might have missed. What do you think? Which one would you choose?

A: I haven't been to Hawaii but absolutely love the Caribbean. I've been to over 10 different islands and they all were different. The Caribbean is beautiful and you can find an island that appeals to your taste. Also nothing can beat the food, music or friendliness of the people. My favorite time to go is spring through fall because its off season so you have less tourists and its cheaper. Also its easy to meet people and immerse yourself in their culture. Try something new and visit the Caribbean.
