Q: so my family isnt the type to go out places... and im going to a cottage for the weekend with my friend and her family. its my first time i know embarrassing but im sorta..scared to be away from home that long in a forest .........i just turned 17 by the way... and i dont know what to bring with me.... help? thanks!
A: First don't worry, everyone is sorta scared to be away from home - especially the first time. You are going to want to ask if there is electricity in the cottage, don't bring hair dryer if not and you also want to be mentally prepared. Next your going to want bug spray and sun block. I don't know where your going but just about every state has some kind of pest and being uncomfortable because your bit up and burnt crispy style won't help you enjoy your vacation. Bring a deck of cards and a couple board games. Make sure that if you bring Monopoly you bring a shorter game. Everyone's attention span is different. Your going to want a book or a couple of your favorite magazines - or both! It is very relaxing to spend some time sitting outside reading. Don't forget the basics either: Pants, shirts, underwear, etc. - Favorites are good but don't bring something you would worry about, like that new lacy top that snags on everything. You also won't need dozens of everything. Gone 3 days? Take 4 shirts, two jeans, and 5 pairs of underwear. Going Hiking? You'll need sturdy and comfortable tennis shoes, new isn't necessarily better - too many blisters. I know it's hard but if your a cell phone junky think about leaving the cell behind. You'll spend more time enjoying your surroundings instead of focusing on everyone back home. I hope this helps!
